In the past decade, sports cards have become even more unique and collectible. Similar to valuable artwork, you may now obtain a limited edition card that displays the print number on the front or back of the card. These sports card pieces might have a print run of 1 out of 1000 or even 1 out of 10. This is much better than owning a common card that is 1 out of 5,000 or higher! Of course valuation of limited edition cards depends on the market place, although in general, limited edition cards bring a much higher dollar value than those that are not. Lastly, the limited edition cards that are the first in their print run (ie. 1 / 10 ) are much more valuable than the others in the same print run.
